Emily Pacilio is a dancer/choreographer and Gavin Price is an actor/musician/sound designer/web developer. Together, they form The Basics.

A real-life married couple, Emily & Gavin find great pleasure in teaching their respective art forms to one another. Within this setting of reversed rigor, new forms are generated, and the creation of the work cannot be separated from the individuals, ultimately the duo. Their Sharing and learning; patience and guidance. As Emily trains to project her voice, Gavin figures out how to do a ball-change. This labor of love results in a deeply human comedy. In other words: it’s funny.

The Basics use direct storytelling, found text, sound & live music -along with choreography and found movement- to recreate the absurd real world.
